Bastiat and the economics of freedom to be topic

Due to the weather, the scheduled speaker is not able to travel to Wichita. A replacement program will be presented.

This week (Friday February 22, 2013) the Wichita Pachyderm Club presents David Hart, PhD. He is Director of Liberty Fund, Inc. His topic will be “The Economics of Freedom — Frederic Bastiat.”

Dr. Hart is a recognized expert on Frederic Bastiat, described by Harvard’s Joseph Schumpeter as, “the most brilliant economic journalist who ever lived”. Dr. Hart’s presentation, “The Economics of Freedom — What Your Professors Won’t Tell You” is based on selected works of Frederic Bastiat.

A limited number of copies of the Selected Works by Frederic Bastiat publication will be available for purchase at the meeting.

Despite the weather, this program is expected to proceed as planned.

The public is welcome and encouraged to attend Wichita Pachyderm Club meetings. Meetings are held almost every Friday in the Wichita Petroleum Club on the top floor of the Bank of America Building at 100 N. Broadway. The program starts at noon, and it is suggested that guests arrive by 11:45 am in order to get their lunch before the program starts. The meeting costs $10, which includes a delicious buffet lunch and beverage. For more information click on Wichita Pachyderm Club.
